More about Kate
Bestselling and award-winning author Kate Angelo once sold a lion to a circus in Shreveport after her mom realized lions weren’t great house pets. Growing up, she was a bookworm, dog groomer, exotic pet wrangler, horse trainer, cowgirl, and teenage pool shark. After aging out of foster care, she cultivated her inner computer nerd and worked as a web programmer, but during a visit to Australia, she encountered Jesus and left the corporate world to pursue a life in ministry.
She is an author, minister, and public speaker from Southwest Missouri who works alongside her husband championing stronger marriages and families. She serves as Vice President and cofounder of their nonprofit Vanguard Marriage and Family Advocates and serves on the executive board of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW).
As Mom to 5 adult children, she’s fluent in both sarcasm and eye rolls. Kate is a coffee addict, tech enthusiast, productivity guru, expert knitter, summer fanatic, prayer warrior, dog lover, avid reader, and a bigtime klutz—just ask her doctor.
Having aged out of foster care and into her own found family, Kate brings a unique perspective to her writing, breathing life into flawed characters who find hope and healing amidst danger.

I like to captivate my readers with stories of imperfect people discovering the best and worst of themselves in high stakes situations.
I’ve been writing fiction since I was a kid and even won a Christmas Writing Contest at my elementary school for a riveting tale about Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I learned to read at a very young age, but really became a reader when I picked up my older sister’s copy of a Stephen King novel. It was the book that taught me what a character-driven story should be and how to write suspense.
Since then, I’ve put my nose in hundreds of books spanning the classics to the modern. I found that I loved Suspense novels and began writing my first manuscript in 2020. I entered a writing contest with Sunrise Publishing and was selected to write a romantic suspense with Lynette Eason. My debut novel, Driving Force, was released in 2022.
I didn’t have the best start in life.
Abused, neglected, and abandoned, I aged out of foster care and grew up quickly with very little guidance. I made many mistakes, but eventually surrendered my life completely to Jesus. That was the beginning of true forgiveness and healing.
I invite you to read more about my testimony in Forsaken – A Journey to Faith and Purpose, the book I coauthored with my husband, Jerry. It is a story of how God called two imperfect people, and after they answered the call, He used them to perform His perfect will.
I became a student of the Bible and a minister with the General Council of the Assembly of God. I continued my training and studies in the areas of psychology, marriage and premarital counseling, and coaching. I am a Licensed Minister, Board-certified Life Coach, a Certified Marriage Counselor, Certified Marriage Director, and premarital counselor. Contact me if you’re interested in having me speak at your next event.
My husband, Jerry Angelo, is my best friend, and we love to travel the world, making it a better place for those we meet. We teach, speak, train, and help where needed.
I am an empty-nest Mom to FIVE awesome children, and we have entered the blessed years of Grandparenting! What a joy! Most days, you’ll find Willow, my Long-Haired Chihuahua, following me wherever I go. She loves to sleep on my desk or in her special chair as I work, and we take long walks every day. She’s a pretty good co-worker.

I love knitting and reading, and thanks to audiobooks, I can do both. I am a geek at heart, and I love all things techie and gadgetry. If you have a question about technology, I’m your girl. I’m all about productivity and working smarter, not harder.
Now that you know about me, I would love to know more about you, so be sure to subscribe to my newsletter, where we can chat!
