Kate Angelo · About
From Foster Care to Fiction.
The story of how one woman became a bestselling, award-winning author — while saving marriages.
A Letter From Kate
Dear Reader,
Hi, I’m Kate — bestselling author, foster‑care survivor, and (once, briefly) a lion’s business manager.
Growing up, I was a bookworm, a dog groomer, an exotic‑pet wrangler, a horse trainer, a cowgirl, and a teenage pool shark — long before I ever called myself a writer. (Yes — there really was a lion. I’ll get to that.)
I aged out of foster care and grew up quickly, with very little guidance.
I made many mistakes, but I eventually surrendered my life completely to Jesus — and it’s the thread that runs through every story I’ve written since.
That was the beginning of true forgiveness and healing.
After aging out of foster care, I leaned into my analytical side, cultivating my inner computer nerd and working as a web programmer. But during a visit to Australia, a life‑altering encounter with Jesus shifted my trajectory — from the corporate world into ministry, and eventually, into storytelling.
Today I write about imperfect people discovering the best and worst of themselves in high‑stakes situations — because that’s exactly what happened to me. I’m so glad you’re here. Keep scrolling — I promise the lion story is coming.
“Abused. Neglected. Abandoned.”

“I once sold a lion to a circus in Shreveport — after my mom realized lions weren’t great house pets.”
Publishers Weekly Bestseller. Selah Award Winner. Amazon Top 100 Author.
Her debut novel Driving Force launched in 2022. Girl Lost released in 2025 to become a Selah Award finalist. I captivate readers with stories of imperfect people discovering the best and worst of themselves in high‑stakes situations — the same kind of trouble a girl who once wrangled a lion knows a little something about.
