In my book Driving Force, veteran Grey Parker is forced to use a wheelchair after encountering a nerve agent during a mission. I started to consider what life would look like for Grey for day-to-day living, especially basic tasks like getting into his car. My husband sent this video where Cambry explains why the Tesla X was a great choice for her needs and the idea blossomed from there.

A bit more research showed fabrications of a robotic arm that could lift the wheelchair into the Tesla rather than disassembling it as Cambry does. Here are two videos I used as inspiration during the writing phase:

From the time I wrote the book until now, YouTubers have added several videos and examples of robotics assisting people to get in and out of their vehicles.
